Geometric Watercolour Name Art

Geometric Watercolour Name Art
Hey everyone! Today I'm pleased to share a super easy and fun way to decorate someone's name. This design incorporates both a watercolour look and a geometry look. I have linked a YouTube video below showing a time lapse of the process. Please take a look and let me know what you think!

Materials:
  • Watercolour paper - 300gsm
  • Clipboard
  • Pencil
  • Compass to make circles
  • Ruler
  • Blending markers or brush pens - I used Tombow Dual Brush Pens: Bright Palette
  • Paintbrush
  • Water for blending the colours
  • Eraser
  • Heat Tool to dry the artwork (optional)
  • Gold Marker - I used Pilot Gold Marker - Broad Tip

Steps:
Watch the video below to see the steps in creating the name art:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfOF5bfwQSQ

  1. Draw a line in the middle of the watercolour paper and mark the centre
  2. Using your compass make three circles along the middle
  3. At their meeting points - make more circles until you have a series of overlapping circles
  4. Begin to colour the segments in with your blending markers
  5. Erase the pencil with your eraser
  6. Begin to blend the markers by dipping your painbrush in water and spreading over the page
  7. Clean your brush in between each colour
  8. Once you're happy with the painting - use your heat tool to dry the the paint or wait for painting to dry
  9. Use your gold marker to write the name on top of the painting
  10. Frame your artwork and gift it away! or keep it for yourself.

Rainbow Greeting Card

Make Your Own Rainbow Greeting Card

Hello Crafters! Here is some inspiration for you to make your own greeting card. This rainbow-themed card is sure to brighten up anyone's day. I purcahsed Tombow's Dual Brush Pens after some extensive research on YouTube and I am loving the versatility of these markers/pens. They are water-based so the colours blend easily either with the blending marker provided or a brush dipped in water.

Materials:
  • Card stock, white and light blue (I used Fountain)
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens
  • Paintbrush and marker
  • Stickers/embellishments
How I did it:

  1. Cut out the light blue card stock to measure a 4x6in card
  2. Begin to work on your rainbow - use any white paper - I used white card stock
  3. Draw your rainbow and leave some empty space in between each colour. I used Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
  4. Dip your brush in water and blend the colours - spreading onto the empty space

  5. Allow your rainbow to dry then cut it out
  6. Trace the shape of a cloud and cut it out as well
  7. Draw a "happy face" on the cloud and add pink embellishments as "cheeks"
  8. Glue the cloud on top of the card and the rainbow at the bottom
  9. In between the cloud and rainbow draw raindrops in various colours
  10. Use different coloured stickers to make the rainbows "pop out"
  11. That's it! you can write whatever you wish inside the card.
Thanks for taking a look! Please let me know if you have any questions in the comments. Have a wonderful day!
